7-3 Earth Science Research

Task:

• Students will research information to aid them in answering two earth science questions. All information should be cross reverenced for accuracy using reliable sources.

• Using Noodlebib, students will create citations for the source they used for research. The Noodlebib notecard feature will then be used to paraphrase the gathered information.

• Students will use paraphrased information to answer their questions by creating a Glogster online poster and presenting it to the class and school community.

• Minimum requirements as follows:
• Question # 1- Describe the three basic types of volcanoes.
• Two citations
• Three Noodlebib notecards for each citation covering the three types of volcanoes
• Strato Volcano
• Cinder Cone Volcano
• Shield Volcano
• Question # 2- How are volcanoes related to tectonic plate boundaries?
• Two citations
• Three Noodlebib notecards for each citation covering the definitions and relationship
• Definition of volcano
• Definition of tectonic plates and boundary
• Describe the relationship between volcanoes and tectonic plate boundaries
• Extra Credit will be given only if all minimum requirements are met.
• Extra Credit will be awarded for the inclusion, within the Glogster presentation, of:
• Appropriate music
• Video
• External links to learn more (be creative)
• Other additional creativity that enhances your presentation
